One very important mosque is the Quba Mosque, this is the oldest mosque of Saudi Arabia, it is located just outside Madinah and only a few kilometers from the Prophets mosque. It’s first stones where layd by the prophet Muhammad on his trim from Mecca to Madinah. The Mosque was rebuild in 1986 and now a days the prayer hall is arranged around a central courtyard, characterized by six large domes resting on clustered columns. 

The Qiblilatain Mosque is another mosque of great importance in Madinah. This is because Muhammad has been said here to change the direction of the prayer from Jerusalem to Mecca .The story goes that when Muhammad was praying towards Jerusalem and received revelation that he immediately turned around to Mecca and that all the other prayers did the same. The mosque is called Qibilatian because qibla means prayer, therefore it is the mosque of the two Qiblas.

The next mosque is the Ghamama Mosque which is also called the mosque of clouds, this is because ghamam means clouds. The location of the Ghamama mosque used to be years ago an open area. It got its name because when the Prophet prayed for rain, suddenly the clouds came and the rain fell. Located right next to the Ghamama Mosque is the Abu Bakr Mosque.
