Jeddah has a lot of markets spread all over the city, the little shops on the markets are called souks which means bazaar. Old Souks still have a traditional touch because the handicraft skills are passed from father to son. It´s always busy on Jeddah´s markets, many bargain hunters come to Jeddah to search for the cheapest products. Go shopping during your stay in a luxury beach resort in Jeddah...
The best markets you can find in the old part of Jeddah. Balad is a huge market area which has different specialized markets. One of the markets located inside Balad is called Souq Al Jamia. This is a textile and spices market who sells a variety of different products. Souq Al Jamia has a long history, spices and textiles have been sold already here for a long time.
If you want to buy diamonds, gold or silver than you should definitely go to Souq AL-Sagha. This market is located at the south-eastern part of Jeddah. Especially during the Umra and Hajj season it will become very busy here. This is a very good place for valuable bargains so everybody tries to buy his jewelry here. This is also the place to be for antique collectors, you can buy different antiques and ornaments from Asia, Africa and Arabia for a very reasonable price.
Of course there are a lot more markets in Jeddah like Al-Basha, Al-Nada, Al-Khaskiyah, Al-Haraj and Al-Sagha. They are located all over the city and all specialized in different goods. Come to this amazing city that has been trading already for hundreds of years and get a bargain yourself!
